FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“Local Creators” Art Exhibit to Celebrate Stoneham’s Vibrant Artistic Community at the Howard Charles Porter Art Gallery
STONEHAM, MA – Stoneham TV and the Stoneham Art Group are proud to announce the grand opening of “Local Creators,” a premier art exhibit showcasing the diverse and exceptional talent of artists right here in our own backyard. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Stoneham TV, located at 53 Central St.
Hosted within the Howard Charles Porter Art Gallery, this exhibition marks a beautiful new chapter for the space. Created in honor of the late Howard C. Porter—a beloved 55-year resident and champion of the arts—the gallery was founded on his belief that “art should be shared, not stored.” While the gallery stands as his legacy, its true mission is to serve as a platform for the next generation of local talent to shine.
“Local Creators” invites the community to take pride in the world-class skill found within our small town. The show features five distinct voices:
Julio Flores: Known for powerful figurative works that masterfully blend vulnerability and strength, Flores’ art challenges our perceptions of nature and the human experience.
Alex Pacor: Using color, line, and pattern in unconventional ways, Pacor’s work is designed to captivate viewers of all backgrounds, from seasoned art critics to first-time gallery visitors.
Erica Lemberg Flores: Bringing a fresh perspective to the gallery, her work explores the intersection of delicate nature and environmental reflection through vibrant botanical oils and mixed media.
Sheila Foley: A local favorite, Foley’s impressionistic paintings and portraits capture the joy, spontaneity, and heart of the Stoneham community.
Lori Del Genis: The artist behind the "Stoneham’s Heroes" project, Del Genis presents soulful, lifelike portraits that celebrate the people who make our town unique.
“This exhibit is more than just a display; it’s an invitation,” says the Stoneham Art Group. “We want our neighbors to see the incredible creativity that thrives here and feel inspired to support the arts. We also want to encourage other local artists to come forward, join our efforts, and help us keep Howard Porter’s spirit of shared art alive.”
The public is encouraged to attend the opening night to meet the artists and enjoy an evening of community and inspiration. Following the opening, the exhibit will be available for viewing during Stoneham TV’s regular hours of operation.
