Getting Started
Pick up your supplies and window assignment at Ceramica Paint Studio, 380 Main St.
Your painting area will be 18 × 24 inches, outlined with masking tape and primed.
Stay within the taped area, respecting any window sections the merchant has asked you to leave unpainted.
Remove the “Coming Soon” sign and tape it below your painting area, if there’s a ledge, to catch drips.
Please protect sidewalks, brickwork, window frames, and all other areas outside the merchant’s window.
Painting Tips & Supplies: We’ll provide paints in assorted Halloween colors, brushes, water, and a brush cup.
You may want to bring:
A small step stool or ladder for reaching higher areas (with adult supervision for children).
Newspaper or a plastic drop cloth to protect ledges and storefronts.
Old clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
A few helpful tips:
Sketch your design on paper beforehand.
Paint the background first, let it dry, then add your scene or characters.
Add a little WHITE to your colors (except black) to help them stand out.
Avoid black backgrounds: Black paint can leach into window glass in direct sunlight.
Complete the “About the Artist” sign and tape it next to your window.
Have a WONDERFUL time painting and bringing Halloween to life in Stoneham! Thank you for being part of this special community tradition.
